You Don’t Need More Motivation—You Need Momentum

Uncategorized

Let’s just go ahead and say what most high-capacity, faith-filled leaders feel but rarely admit:

"If I could just get myself motivated again… I could turn this around."

You’ve had those bursts before, right?
The powerful sermon.
The late-night prayer session.
The quiet time where everything clicked and you swore, "This time, I’m doing it differently."

And for a day—or maybe a week—you actually did.

But then life picked up speed.
Stress hit harder.
Old thoughts came rushing back.
And that flicker of motivation fizzled out.

Here’s the truth:
This isn’t a motivation issue.
It’s a strategy issue.
You need momentum—not just inspiration.

Why Motivation Won’t Carry You

Motivation is a spark.
It feels good. It gets things started.
But it was never designed to sustain transformation.

Because motivation depends on:

  • Your mood

  • Your energy

  • Your circumstances lining up just right

  • The perfect quote, the perfect sermon, the perfect moment

And let’s be real—lastin...

Take Every Thought Captive (Even the Ones That Hide)

Uncategorized

Some Thoughts Hide Better Than Others

Some thoughts are easy to catch.

You hear the worry.
You feel the fear.
You recognize the spiral—and you know it’s not from God.

But others?
They’re quieter.
Subtle.
They blend into your normal.

They sound reasonable. Responsible, even.
And because they don’t shout, you don’t stop them.

But those are the ones that steal your peace the most.

Not All Dangerous Thoughts Sound Like Panic

Some sound like this:

“This is just how life is.”
“I’ll never really get ahead.”
“Maybe I’m just not wired for peace.”
“It’s not that bad—I can manage it.”

They’re not dramatic.
They don’t cause an instant breakdown.
But they quietly create a low-grade agreement with stress.

And before you know it, you’re not just tolerating pressure—you’ve made peace with what’s actually robbing you of it.

Just Because It’s Quiet Doesn’t Mean It’s True

The enemy’s smartest tactic isn’t always to overwhelm you.
It’s to subtly lower your expectations.

He wants you t...

Stress is a Liar… But It Sounds Like You

Uncategorized

Let’s talk about that voice in your head.

You know the one.

“I can’t do this.”
“This always happens to me.”
“I should’ve seen this coming.”
“I’m just not good at handling stress.”

It doesn’t sound like the enemy.
It doesn’t sound like the world.
It sounds like you.

But here’s the truth:
It’s not.

The Voice of Stress Is Sneaky

Stress rarely shouts.
It slips in quietly.
It talks in first person.

And that’s why it’s so hard to catch.

The voice of stress blends with your own thoughts—until you start believing that every anxious reaction, every internal spiral, every triggered emotion must be your identity.

But stress is a liar.
And just because it sounds like your voice doesn’t mean it speaks your truth.

You’ve Got to Start Talking Back

Most high-achieving women spend way too much time listening to stress—and not nearly enough time interrupting it.

We hear thoughts like:

“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I don’t have what it takes.”
“Everything’s falling ...

When You Know the Truth… But Still Feel Stressed

Uncategorized

You’ve declared the promises.
You’ve studied the Scriptures.
You’ve even had moments where your spirit felt strong and steady.

And yet… most of the time, peace still feels just out of reach.

My private clients tell me, “Donna, I know the Scriptures. I do the devotions, I lead Bible studies, I even mentor others—and I still feel stressed. I believe God’s Word, I love Him, but the overwhelm keeps coming back.”

You believe God’s Word is true—no question about it.
But when the stress hits, your emotions don’t seem to care.
Your heart races, your shoulders tense, your mind spirals—and you wonder:

“Why am I still reacting like this when I know better?”
“How can I believe truth and still feel overwhelmed?”

The Battle Isn’t in Your Belief—It’s in Your Alignment

You don’t need “more faith.”
You’re not lacking in love for God.
You’re not spiritually lazy.
You’re not missing some secret the “successful” Christians know.

You’re in a war for alignment.

Your spirit may be grounded in tru...

When Peace Feels Just Out of Reach—Even for the Faithful

Uncategorized

Let’s be real—how many times have you started strong…
Only to spiral right back into stress, overwhelm, or defeat?

You heard the sermon.
You read the book.
You even had a breakthrough moment where it felt like everything was finally about to change…

Then the laundry piled up. The client canceled. The unexpected bill showed up. The emotions came crashing in.

And peace?
Gone. Again.

Cue the internal voice:

“Why can’t I stick with this?”
“I should be further along by now.”
“What's wrong with me.”

But here’s what I've learned:
Yes, you can do this alone.
You and the Holy Spirit are enough.
But let’s be honest—it’s a lot harder that way.

When you’re isolated, it’s easier to get stuck in your head.
To spiral into discouragement.
To convince yourself that this struggle is just something you have to live with.

And sometimes, even with all your faith and determination…
You just get tired.
You lose perspective.
You forget what’s true.

And other times, even as a mature Christian woman...

Because He Lives...The Power of Stress is Broken

Uncategorized

The cross wasn’t just a moment in history—it was THE moment that changed everything.

The moment sin was silenced.
The moment Satan was stripped.
The moment the curse was crushed.

Jesus didn’t just conquer sin, death, and hell—
He conquered everything they brought with them.

Fear.
Stress.
Sickness.
Shame.
Confusion.
Lack.
Mental torment.
Emotional breakdown.
Every form of darkness that came through the fall—
Jesus carried it to the cross and crushed it underfoot.

“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8, ESV)

If the cross had conquered sin,
but left you to wrestle the effects of sin—
like lack, sickness, fear, confusion, failure, worry and condemnation—
then the sin would be greater and still victorious
.

But it wasn’t a partial victory. It was a total overthrow.

The finished work of the cross didn’t just give you a way to survive—
it secured an authority that empowers you to reign.

“But the free gift [of God] is not like the t...

What If Peace Was Your Default Setting Not Your Reward?

Uncategorized

We’ve been taught to treat peace like a reward.

Work hard enough.
Pray long enough.
Get through the drama, the to-do list, the traffic, the laundry, the hard conversations…
Then maybe—just maybe—you get a few quiet minutes of peace.

But what if peace wasn’t a bonus?
What if it wasn’t a break in the chaos, but the baseline you lived from?
What if peace was your default setting?

We’ve Settled for Occasional Calm

Somewhere along the way, we got sold a lie:

“Life is just stressful. That’s the world we live in.”

So we normalize overwhelm.
We adjust to anxiety.
We live reactive—bouncing from problem to problem, hoping we can carve out just enough margin to breathe.

But peace was never meant to be rare.
It was meant to be relational.
A byproduct of abiding. A promise, not a possibility.

“My peace I give to you… not as the world gives.” (John 14:27)

Jesus didn’t say, “I’ll drop in occasionally and calm things down.”
He said His peace—the kind that silences storms—is yours. Now...

You Can Live Unshaken in a World That Never Stops Shaking

Uncategorized

You’ve felt it.
The shaking.
In the world. In your relationships. In your finances. In your soul.

Things are being stirred, disrupted, exposed.
And it’s not just your life—it’s everything.

The ground beneath people’s feet is shifting.
And here’s what’s wild:
It’s not the enemy doing the shaking—it’s GOD.

"26 The earth was rocked at the sound of his (God's) voice from the mountain, but now he has promised,

“Once and for all I will not only shake the systems of the world, but also the unseen powers in the heavenly realm!”

27 Now this phrase “once and for all” clearly indicates the final removal of things that are shaking, that is, the old order—so only what is unshakable will remain.

28 Since we are receiving our rights to an unshakable kingdom we should be extremely thankful and offer God the purest worship that delights his heart as we lay down our lives in absolute surrender, filled with awe.

29 For our God is a holy, devouring fire!"

—Hebrews 12:26-29

Peace on Purpose: Why the Enemy Wants You Distracted and Drained

Uncategorized

 We all want peace.

We crave the calm.
The deep exhale.
The quiet confidence that says, “I’m good. Life is good.”

But here’s the thing:
Peace was never meant to just make your day better.
Peace has a purpose. A Kingdom purpose.

You don’t just need peace for yourself—you need peace for a purpose.

Your Calm Isn’t Just for Comfort

We’re not fighting for a stress-free life so we can sip tea in a cozy chair while the world burns.
This isn’t about becoming a Zen version of yourself who’s unbothered by anything.

This is about Kingdom strategy.

Because when you are at peace:

  • You think clearly.
  • You hear God more easily.
  • You stop reacting to everything around you and start responding to the One within you.
  • You become unshakable… and available for what He’s asking of you.

Peace positions you.

It’s not passive—it’s powerful.

Peace Makes You Dangerous to the Enemy

Why do you think the enemy goes after your peace so hard?

Because he knows that a peaceful daughter of the King is a d...

Why Your Stress Feels Like It’s Never Ending (And How to Break Free)

Uncategorized

Ever feel like life is just one thing after another? Like no matter how hard you try, things keep spiraling out of control? Maybe you’re facing an endless barrage of challenges, frustrations, and roadblocks. You catch yourself thinking:

  • “Why is this happening to me?”
  • “It's just one thing after another.”
  • “I can’t catch a break.”

But what if this isn’t random? What if it’s not just life throwing curveballs at you, but a targeted attack?

What if everything happening around you—the chaos, the frustrations, the overwhelming stress—was meant to distract you, derail you, and steal your peace?

It’s Not Random. It’s an Attack.

C.S. Lewis, a man who knew pain and suffering firsthand, figured this out. After losing his wife, Joy, to cancer and living through the trauma of WWII, Lewis wrote The Screwtape Letters. In this brilliant work, he describes how demons subtly work behind the scenes to keep you from recognizing the true battle at hand.

Here’s the kicker: The en...
